Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) import requirements for pesticides and devices can be difficult to understand. For example, did you know that equipment used to apply pesticides, when sold separately, is not subject to regulation under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)? Yet, an instrument intended for trapping, destroying, repelling, or mitigating a pest is a pesticide device subject to import requirements.

The Teamsters on July 25 reached a tentative agreement with UPS to avert a strike that had been scheduled to take place Aug. 1 if an agreement could not be reached. The new five-year agreement includes raised wages for all workers, creates more full-time jobs, and includes dozens of workplace protections and improvements.
