The first provides funding to federal agencies involved with agriculture, energy, transportation, military building projects, veterans support, and housing and urban development, as well as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), through Jan. 19. All other federal agencies are covered by a second stopgap bill that runs through Feb. 2.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issues redelivery notices requiring goods to be redelivered for re-exportation or destruction. Some customs brokers and importers are confused about when CBP will liquidate the entry for redelivered or destroyed merchandise with a refund, or when the filing of a drawback claim would be required to be made for the importer to obtain a refund of the duties paid.
