Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Dec. 16 issued an authorization for Immediate Delivery (ID) procedures for merchandise to be released from Dec. 17 to Dec. 31 in accordance with 19 CFR § 142.21(i). This authorization is offered to filers who may elect to take advantage of the interim Harmonized Tariff Schedule changes, which take effect on or after Jan. 1, 2025.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in a Dec. 16 Federal Register notice said an increase in Section 301 tariff rates on five subheadings of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) covering tungsten products, wafers, and polysilicon will take effect Jan. 1, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. ET.

If you’re a Licensed Customs Broker and an NCBFAA member, you can earn continuing education credits if you register to attend the 52nd NCBFAA Annual Conference at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass on April 6-9, 2025. The new Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Continuing Education (CE) requirement is mandatory for all individually licensed customs brokers and non-compliance could result in a suspended or revoked license.
