The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have continued to postpone their “Container Dwell Fee,” and said they will reconsider its possible imposition on Oct. 21.

In a Sept. 20 letter, NCBFAA President Jose D. Gonzalez thanked USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Administrator Kevin Shea for his decision to permanently allow phytosanitary certificates to be uploaded to the Document Image System (DIS) in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

“The goal of RBS is to reduce inspections on entities importing commodities compliant with current pest and disease regulations,” the agencies said.

The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Food Facility Registration Renewal is about to begin—starting Oct. 1 and continuing through Dec. 31, 2022. All food facilities in your clients’ supply chains must submit a timely renewal. Failure to do so will cause product to be denied entry into the U.S.
