U.S. Customs Broker weighs in on tariff impact in Laredo

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Those in the trade industry are already bracing for the reality of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
While some of the United States' biggest trading partners were hit with 25% tariffs on most imports, the President of the National Brokers Association (NBA), Jose David Gonzalez, says that many steps in the trading process remain unclear.
Adding that they’re going to have to work with the clients to make them pay their duties upfront, the cost of which he expects to be passed on to the consumer.
Items like cars, fruits and electronics are just some of the things heading for a higher price tag.
