    NCBFAA Regulatory Agencies Committee (RAC) Chair Mike Lahar participated in a two-day workshop “Seafood Traceability: Exploring Programs from Design to Implementation,” which was sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the World Wildlife Federation and the Stimson Center. The workshop was attended by industry, government, and NGOs from around the globe. NCBFAA provided an important voice in a wide-ranging and animated discussion on how to implement seafood traceability programs in a meaningful and successful way.

  • FMC Guidance on Complaint Proceedings, Seeks Demurrage and Detention Billings Comments

    The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) on Sept. 15 announced that it has voted to move forward with two demurrage-and-detention related initiatives proposed by Commissioner Rebecca F. Dye as part of Fact Finding 29. Unlike Commissioner Dye’s other Interim Recommendations, these initiatives required formal commission approval.
