Information Technology Specialist, Trade Transformation Office / Office of Trade, U.S. Customs and Border Protection

 

Mr. Carlos Rodriguez is an Information Technology Specialist (ITS) in the Trade Transformation Office (TTO) at CBP. In his current position with TTO’s Readiness and Deployment Branch, Mr. Rodriguez is responsible for ensuring that all CBP, Partner Government Agency (PGA) and Trade community users are provisioned correctly and have the necessary system access levels and roles to perform their daily job functions and tasks. He also strives to ensure that every ACE stakeholder is aware and prepared for all the new filing and reporting capabilities made available through the ACE Secure Data Portal.

Mr. Rodriguez began working at CBP in 2006 as a contractor with the ACE Help Desk, providing support to CBP, PGA and trade community users on topics related to ACE, including the ACE Portal and ACE Reports. In 2013, Mr. Rodriguez became a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the ACE Communications Branch, where he delivered presentations at various ports and trade conferences, speaking about ACE, with a focus on the ACE Portal and ACE Reports. He also led in drafting and publishing the ACE Monthly Trade Update newsletter, a key information resource during ACE system development.

Before joining CBP, Mr. Rodriguez gained valuable experience working in the private sector trade industry, including positions with a software vendor, a freight forwarder and a customhouse broker in Miami.
