Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1500 member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

  • CBP Guidance Update for IEEPA Refunds in CAPE for Warehouse Entries

    Jul 2, 2026
    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on July 2 provided updated guidance to the trade on warehouse entries and warehouse withdrawals filed on Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries (CAPE) declarations. Effective July 7, CBP said warehouse entries (Entry Types 21 and 22) will no longer be accepted on a CAPE Declaration. Warehouse entries that are submitted on a CAPE declaration will be rejected with the existing ENTRY TYPE NOT ALLOWED error message.

  • CPSC e-Filing Go-Live Is Here

    On Wednesday, July 8, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) will launch mandatory e-filing of CPSC certificate data in ACE –- a long-anticipated event for the trade. We know many importers are not fully ready. Some have started the CPSC Product Registry process but are still working through it. Others have thus far chosen not to register in the Product Registry. As a result, customs brokers can expect to be entering the certificate data into the full CPSC message set for many of their importer clients — at least initially.
