AfA Kicks Off 2010 Webcast Series with Freebie for NCBFAA Members

The Airforwarders Association is inviting NCBFAA Members to participate in AfA’s inaugural 2010 webcast, “New Fun Stuff You Need to Know About Compliance,” for free and save $49. Those who are CCS or CES certified can earn 1.5 CEUs.

When you think about “compliance” your first reflex may be security, TSA, export regulations, customs, CBT, FMCSA and the raft of regulations we deal with every day pertaining to trade and transportation. But wait – there’s more!

Anyone who tracks the headlines knows that regulators are pursuing companies – and individuals – more actively than ever in areas like antitrust, anti-corruption, and employment law. Failure to pay attention to these areas can put companies in extreme jeopardy, especially in light of recent changes to the Federal Acquisition Regulations and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. Among the areas to be covered in this overview are:

  • The basics of a good corporate compliance program.
  • The basics of antitrust and anti-corruption regulations.
  • How to train with limited resources.
  • How to track and monitor your program to make sure your employees aren’t placing your organization at risk.

Leading the presentation will be Erica Salmon Byrne, the Assistant General Counsel and Managing Director, Advisory Services for Corpedia, Inc., a leading ethics, compliance and risk assessment consulting company and AFA Associate Member. Corpedia, founded in 1998, is a leader in ethics and compliance e-learning, risk assessment, code of conduct services and many other areas of ethics and compliance consulting.
